Practice Session
Watch this clip and notice a few things this goaltender does very well.
1. He stays compact.
2. His body stays “up”.
3. Head follows puck all the way to the body. No use of peripheral vision.
4. Superior leg and core body strength.
5. Follows rebounds with eyes and body.

Red Line September 2007 Goalie Clinics Announced
Red Line Hockey will hold 1 1/2 hr goalie sessions at Fort DuPont Rink on the dates below. Cost of sessions is $55.00. All clincs are limited to 4 goaltenders. Please contact Bob DeGemmis at (703) 244-1916 or rdegem@hotmail.com if interested.

Fall Forward, Not Back
Goaltenders have figured something out. The more effective way to fall when moving side to side is FORWARD. Watch these clips and notice that goaltenders can steal more ground and get closer to the puck, therefore not allowing it to get up and over them.

Breakaway Saves
Mike Richter of the New York Rangers shuts down Pavel Bure of the Vancouver Canucks in the Stanley Cup Finals in 1994. Mike Richter is an average sized person (5' 9'') and had superior footspeed, reflexes and concentration.
